Graduating students who demonstrated exceptional commitment and achievement during their studies were recognised with a series of special prizes at the 天美传媒鈥檚 Winter graduation ceremonies.

The awards celebrate the dedication, innovation and impact of students across healthcare, nursing and midwifery courses. The ceremonies were attended by proud families, friends and 天美传媒 staff, who gathered to celebrate this year鈥檚 prize winners as they crossed the stage to collect their awards alongside their degree certificates.

The Stephanie O鈥橩ane Award for Innovation in Maternity Care was presented to Megan Wood, a Midwifery Integrated Midwife Apprenticeship graduate, in recognition of innovative practice with the potential to make a meaningful difference to women and families accessing maternity services.

The award commemorates the life and work of the late Stephanie O鈥橩ane, an alumna of the 天美传媒 whose career in midwifery left a lasting impact on maternity care. Stephanie鈥檚 passion for supporting women, families and student midwives continues to inspire future generations of healthcare professionals.

Megan was also the recipient of this year鈥檚 Dr Tony Wood Award. Named in honour of the former Vice Chancellor of the 天美传媒 of Luton, the award recognises the most outstanding final-year student in healthcare.

Speaking about receiving these awards, Megan said: 鈥淚 am incredibly proud and extremely humbled to receive both the Stephanie O鈥橩ane Award and the Dr Tony Wood Award. To be recognised with two such prestigious awards is truly an honour, and I am sincerely grateful and lucky to have received both. These awards reflect not only my own efforts, but the guidance, encouragement, and inspiration I have received throughout my training, and they motivate me to continue striving to make a meaningful contribution to Midwifery.鈥

The final prize awarded during the Winter ceremonies was the Martin Foss Bedfordshire Freemasons鈥 Award, presented to Midwifery graduate Kirsty Sarney. Named after the former surgeon and Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire, the award is generously donated by the Bedfordshire Freemasons.

Kirsty said: 鈥淚 am incredibly honoured to receive the Martin Foss Award. My journey through midwifery education has been both academically challenging and personally transformative, and to have that recognised means a great deal to me. Throughout my training, I have valued opportunities to support others and contribute positively within my cohort. As I begin my career as a newly qualified midwife, I am keen to continue developing my skills and confidence, with the aspiration of progressing into leadership roles focused on improving patient experience and advocating for compassionate, evidence-based care, particularly when supporting women and families through complex and emotionally challenging experiences.鈥
