Dr Seamus Murphy
Lecturer in Criminology

My research has focused upon criminal entrepreneurship and the development of illegal and "grey" industries which subvert legislation and regulation.
This has led to an interest in how lawmakers and governments approach illegal activity which calls into question the moral and practical legitimacy of existing law.
Criminal entrepreneurship is identifiable within illicit industries including the drug trade, sex industry and mainstream regulated corporate activity.
Bearing in mind this last sector, I am seeking to develop a Corporate Crime unit for inclusion in Undergraduate and Postgraduate study.
