Summary: This report describes a study undertaken to validate the rating scales for the writing components of the Grade 1 and Grade Pre-1 EIKEN tests. It provides an overview of the methodology employed in the study, the date derived from the main data collection procedures, and the principal findings in relation to teh validation of the scales.
