This course has the option to be taken over four years which includes a year placement in industry. Undertaking a year in industry has many benefits. You gain practical experience and build your CV, as well as being a great opportunity to sample a profession and network with potential future employers.
There is no tuition fee for the placement year enabling you to gain an extra year of experience for free.

A Degree with a Foundation Year gives you guaranteed entry to an Undergraduate course.
Whether you鈥檙e returning to learning and require additional help and support to up-skill, or if you didn鈥檛 quite meet the grades to pursue an Undergraduate course, our Degrees with Foundation Year provide a fantastic entry route for you to work towards a degree level qualification.
With our guidance and support you鈥檒l get up to speed within one year, and will be ready to seamlessly progress on to undergraduate study at Bedfordshire.
The Foundation Year provides an opportunity to build up your academic writing skills and numeracy, and will also cover a range of subject specific content to fully prepare you for entry to an Undergraduate degree.
This is an integrated four-year degree, with the foundation year as a key part of the course. You will need to successfully complete the Foundation Year to progress on to the first year of your bachelor鈥檚 degree.

- The 鈥渇uture you鈥 in a marketing role, where you learn skills to support your employment journey and build your confidence, in the units Beginning your professional journey (Year 1); Career in practice (Year 2); and Continuing professional development (Year 3).
- The caring and thinking leader, exploring ethics, sustainability and the role of the responsible marketer in social change while giving you the tools to find your 'best self' in the units Anatomy of a successful marketer (Year 1) and Ethics and CSR in business (Year 3).

Principles of marketing 鈥 Use marketplace analysis and data-driven marketing to create marketing plans that address product and branding decisions. Consumer behaviour 鈥 Discover how people think, act and interact with a range of brands, and develop successful marketing plans to reach these audiences. Essential statistics for business and marketing 鈥 Develop the numerical and data-analysis skills crucial for the modern marketer.
Year 2
Brand management 鈥 Learn how to work in unique ways with a range of favourite brands, uncovering what drives their success. Practical digital marketing analytics 鈥 Use specialist marketing-based analytical tools to identify gaps, suggest solutions and track impact. Marketing for small/medium enterprises 鈥 Build your creativity, customer-relationship and content-creation skills on SME marketing, with opportunities to work on live SME projects. Client relationships and strategy in marketing and advertising 鈥 Gain a comprehensive understanding of advertising strategy, client-agency relationships and how to navigate the changing industry landscape.
Year 3
Marketing in a global context 鈥 Analyse, design and implement global brand strategies to improve company performance and competitiveness. Emerging trends in marketing 鈥 Assess digital marketing trends from different sources and use what you learn to create new and effective marketing strategies. Business project 鈥 Plan, research and complete a final-year project that analyses emerging and contemporary issues in marketing.

We reflect the multi-faceted nature of marketing projects within our assessment approach. This is Career Powered Education; combining live project briefs and reflections on visit to digital agencies and local businesses.
You will have the chance to work with businesses like local hat maker Majesa or Luton Town Football Club. You will learn how to present, create and discuss your ideas, all within a supportive small teaching team of 5 academics.
You will choose your final interest area for your third-year business project, engaging with your business area.
The assessment strategy supports the course's focus on being an independent learner and employability. Your subject knowledge and key skills such as teamwork, communication, evaluation of creativity and critical thinking are tested throughout the course using various relevant assessments to meet the learning outcomes as well as your different learning styles.
The key subject themes increase in intensity as you progress to the next level and then to the final year allowing you to build on previous knowledge.
The assessments are therefore designed to support you to work both in a team and independently. There are more group work opportunities at the start of your course to build your team skills and engagement and progresses to more individual and guided assessments to challenge you academically and professionally.
The variations of assessments will prepare you well for the world of marketing. For all assessments, you will have an assignment brief which clearly sets out requirements and the criteria for grading your work; this develops your understanding of the assessment standards and what is needed to do well at a task. You will receive feedback on all your assessments to enable you to improve your learning. It is important that you use this feedback accordingly to maximise your performance on future assignments and to build your learning.

The course will enable you to access a varied career path which will enable you to experience marketing and marketing communications and potentially be employed within areas of:

- education and public sector marketing roles
Alternatively, you may want to further your studies in specialist areas of marketing communications e.g. corporate communications media planning or take a Master鈥檚 programme including MSc Digital Marketing, Marketing or an MBA programme.
Current graduates of Marketing work across a range of sectors from health, well-being, education, gaming and entertainment. Also, we have graduates working client and agency side, from business to consumer marketing to business-to-business marketing.
