The underpinning philosophy of all assessments is to develop both your knowledge and skills to enter employment as a confident manager with a strong base from which to meet your own aspirations. This requires consideration of your own personal capabilities as well as looking outward at the business world. The aim is for you to become an independent and self-directed lifelong learner. Apart from the formal assessments there will be an emphasis on self, peer and group assessment. Tutors will provide feedback on formative assessments to support your development of good academic practice. All assessments are rooted in authentic and practical workplace scenarios to enable the integration of theory and practice in dynamic ‘real world’ work contexts. To facilitate learning for all students a range of assessment methods are used throughout the course, including:
- Business Reports demonstrating contextual insights, critical analysis, and professional practice
- Logistics and supply chain Project Plans exhibiting stellar project management skills
- Research Papers honing critical thinking and strategic perspective
- In-class knowledge tests proving comprehension and synthesis abilities
- Integrative Logistics and supply chain Projects with independent application of learning
- Business simulations provide a dynamic, interactive environment where students can simulate supply chain scenarios, make decisions, and observe the consequences of their actions. Simulations offer a hands-on learning experience, helping students understand the impact of various decisions on supply chain performance.
In addition to our rigorous academic curriculum, our course offers diverse extra-curricular activities such as guest speaker sessions, entrepreneurship events, exhibition visits, conferences, and participation in the Business School's Business Showcase event. These activities provide students with invaluable industry insights, opportunities for innovation, exposure to trends, and a platform to showcase their work. Together, they enrich students' learning experiences and prepare them for success in the business world.
